We can turn to Scripture for encouragement, wisdom and advice in all areas of our lives including that new business idea. When challenges come, and they will, we can find encouragement and comfort in 1 Samuel. David reveals the secret to confidence in challenging circumstances. When faced with the giant Goliath, he said: “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:37).
While your giant may not be a wild animal you can still apply David’s approach to your situation today. Just as David took the time to recollect the things that God had done in his life in the midst of a great battle, you too, can do the very same thing. David knew that the Lord was faithful and would help him overcome any difficulties.
Today, stop and take time to thank God for what He has done for you. Think about how far you have come and how faithful Jesus has been to you. You can rest confidently and securely knowing that He knows your needs even before you do and that He will lead you to your breakthrough. Of course, that is if you know Him. If you have not yet asked Jesus into your heart, don’t waste another minute of your life, do it now with this prayer:
Lord, I confess to you I am a sinner. I know that sin separates me from you. I now ask you to forgive my sins. I know that Jesus died for me on the cross and will take my sin away if I believe in him. Jesus I do believe in you. I ask you to come into my life (heart) and give me eternal life. Thank you so much for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Amen
