It’s usually FEAR that stops us from stepping out into new things. New opportunities usually mean taking risks. You are either a risk taker naturally or you’re not.
Being full of fear is a hindrance, it divides our mind, drains our energy and hinders whatever it is we so desperately want to achieve. Fear keeps the walls up around us, stops us from forming new relationships, prevents us from moving forward into new lines of work, confuses our minds and strips us of our confidence. Fear keeps us small and keeps us victims.
Quite often we don’t realise that we actually do fear doing a certain thing, we are so programmed to simply just fall back into what’s comfortable, what suits us, what we have been doing day-in-day-out. We think about changing, and even sometimes we really feel that we will step out into the unknown but…then something will happen, someone will say something and we are back where we were feeling less than confident and we eventually conclude that a good job, a beautiful partner, a house of our own is meant for others but definitely not you.
Sometimes we think we have to wait until we are no longer afraid before we try to do something, but if we wait until all our fear is gone we will never amount to much. We need to face our fear with courage and do something despite our fear. If we want to grow out of our fear we must do it afraid. God promises us that He will be with us.
Deut 31:6: God says be strong and courageous, and firm, fear not …. for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you, He will not fail you or forsake you.
Folks, if fear is holding you back I would like to encourage you today to start a fresh with a clean slate.
If you would like us to pray for you just send your details and a contact number. Go to our ‘contact us’ form at this site. Wherever you are right now, know this: We may leave God, but He will never leave us. No matter how bleak the situation, no matter how empty your life may feel, God will never leave you. His promises are true. His word is above all! We can move forward because He goes before us. How comforting and reassuring is that?
