Who are we? THRIVE Christian Community Inc. is a Christ-centred interdenominational community. We believe the Bible is the only complete and infallible written Word of God; that truth begins and ends with God’s Word. We are a group of committed Christians who put their faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ. We enjoy coming together to worship, pray, hear God’s Word and fellowship. We meet mid week (Wednesdays) in the beautiful township of Cooroy for service, prayer, fellowship and Bible study. Growing as committed Christians and individuals during the week is important to us. We stay connected and committed other times through a short message, Pastor’s Blog and Field Notes at this website. You can meet with us in person or connect with us online, it’s your choice. Our mission is to encourage, equip and empower. We spend time with God daily through personal Bible reading, worship and thoughtful prayer. We wouldn’t be surprised either if you see us out and about during the week connecting one-on-one, or with a few good friends at one of our fav coffee and/or breakfast haunts. We enjoy deepening friendships and sharing life together. It also gives us a great opportunity to pray for each other for whatever reason, or to give thanks and praise God. (We love praying with and for others.) You can relax, we are unpretentious (down-to-earth – while we walk in the Kingdom of God). We are non-judgemental; males and females and we are friendly. We are a spirit-filled and joy-filled lot who love growing, connecting, committing, serving and sharing our vision. We would love to share all these wonderful things with you. Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:34-40 that we are to give food to those who are hungry, give clothes to people who need them, provide shelter for people who have none, visit people who are sick, and give comfort to people who are in prison. This scripture is expressed in this quote from Francis of Assisi: Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words. We look forward to meeting you or hearing from you very soon. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Pastor Paulette Gee PS: When I was a child we would put both our hands together leaving our pointer fingers sticking up in the air and folding our other fingers down to form the roof of the church. We would recite this little rhyme as we unfolded our hands: Here is the church Here is the steeple, Open the doors, See all the people. Much later I realised that what I was saying was not correct. This little rhyme was obviously created by someone with a deficient theology. We now teach our kids a new and correct version of this little rhyme: Here is a building, On top there’s a steeple, Open the doors, The church is the people! No matter where we meet, we are the church! Back to About Thrive CC
