ROY MORGAN RESEARCH PAPER

 Roy Morgan

The proof that Christians in Australia are nearing minority status is clearly evident in the Roy Morgan research paper dated April 2014.

In late 2011, Christians outnumbered the non-religious by over two to one: 60.9% of Australians 14+ (11.4 million) said they belonged to a Christian denomination compared with 29.2% (5.5 million) who said they had no religious affiliation – each near their respective proportional averages since 2009.

But in the latest quarter October to December 2013, 52.6% (10.2 million) are Christians, while 37.3% (7.3 million) have no religion – halving the gap to 15% points.

THE ‘NONES’ HAVE MATERIALISED

As new words to describe people and or their behaviour are often invented so is it that a new word describes these non Christians.

They are called ‘nones’ because when they are asked to fill in their religion they write the word ‘none’.

We need droves of labourers in the field in 2015.  We need to unite in prayer, we need to pray that God gives us clear revelation and more wisdom than we have ever had before to recognise opportunities as to where to plant new seeds that will sprout rich green, thriving leaves for God’s kingdom. The fields have rested far too long. People have been deceived for far too long. We, as disciples of Jesus, need to stir up a fire in our hearts for the lost and take more action.
