GOD UNDER THE MICROSCOPE

God under the Microscope

I have a book entitled ‘The God Factor’ written by Dr John Ashton, a research scientist who is author of many books including ‘In Six Days’ and ‘Why 50 Scientists choose to Believe In Creation’. ‘The God Factor’ asks is there a God answering prayers and performing miracles in the 21 Century? Dr Aston gathered a group of 50 people who believe the answer to this question is yes, and they explain why they believe this.

It’s a well known fact that many scientists don’t believe in God because science is based on testing the theory or model by experiment then ditching the idea if there were no result.

I thank God for these 50 scientists and others who put their faith in God. The bible clearly says in Malachi 3:10

10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it. (NKJV)

In this scripture God invites us to test Him, this is God’s call to action here. It is in the applying the call to action, the practical application of the ‘invite’ where the change takes place.

Dr Linda S. Schwab, one of the 50 scientists that expressed her views of science and God in the God Factor has a BA in Chemistry. She confesses what she had grown used to was ‘Christianity and water’ Until some time later having come to the end of how she could improve her situation she recommitted her life to Jesus Christ, first in private and then public. Dr Schwab says: “The surprise came when I realised how incomplete and fragmentary had been my understanding of the transformative role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the individual and of the body of believers….

“Scripture was thick with promises of transformation, which I had read one by one, but which now fitted together as a coherent story, of which mine was a part.”

Dr Schwab has experienced many miracles in her life which is the working of God first hand, isn’t that all the evidence that other scientists need? Or is that too subjective for objective minds?
